Coach Bustin brings a wealth of experience to OPS and his clients. A 1989 graduate of Somerset High School, he was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Following his high school career, he went on to Bridgewater State College where he was a 4-year pitcher and outfielder for the Bears. Earning his degree in 1993 in Physical Education and Health, he was hired by the Fall River School Department as a Physical Education/Health Teacher for the 1993-1994 school year. He remained in this position through the end of the 2013-2014 school year, when he was promoted to the position of district-wide Director of Physical Education/Health. After two school years in the position, Coach Bustin made the move to his current position as Athletic Director at B.M.C. Durfee High School.
Coach Bustin began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School from 1994-1995. From 1996-2000, he was the Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach at the Community College of Rhode Island. During this time, he also spent three summers as an Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach for the Rhode Island Reds of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. From 2001-2004, he was the Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach at Rhode Island College. He left the college ranks in 2005 to become Head Baseball Coach at Durfee High School, a post he held through the 2014 season.
Coach Bustin lives in Fall River, MA with his wife, Traci, and his two children, Brayden (19) and Abbie (16).
