Coach Reid had a stellar high school pitching career at Tiverton High School, culminating in a RI State Championship in 1982. Following high school, Coach Reid pitched at the University of Rhode Island from 1983 – 1986. Following graduation with a degree in Physical Education, Coach Reid embarked on a career in education and coaching. He became an Assistant Baseball Coach at his alma mater, Tiverton HS, beginning in 1987. In 1991, he succeeded the legendary Steve Lake as Tiverton HS Head Baseball Coach. In his first two seasons as head coach, his teams posted a regular season record of 32-1. He stepped away after the 1999 season, but returned as a volunteer assistant coach in 2003 and assumed the Head Coach position in 2009, serving through 2015. He “retired” after the 2015 season and has spent his time doing one-on-one instruction with young and aspiring pitchers. Prior to joining OPS, Coach Reid was a coach for the Newport Jr. Gulls for one season (2016).
